Welcome aboard The Salty Dog Catamaran, a family-owned and operated business since 2004! Set sail on our 46-foot catamaran to explore Puerto Rico’s most pristine, unspoiled islands off the eastern coast of Fajardo. Our sunset sail in sunny Puerto Rico offers a one of a kind experience for every visitor! Soak up the warm sunshine on a pristine beach before witnessing a breathtaking ocean sunset from the deck of our catamaran. This afternoon and sunset experience takes you to two stunning stops, a natrual reserve beach and vibrant coral reef on Puerto Rico’s eastern coast. Enjoy unlimited rum cocktails, tasty snacks, and the chance to snorkel in crystal-clear waters while you relax and take in the beauty of Puerto Rico’s coast. TRIP OVERVIEW:

  • 2:30pm - 6:30pm (4 Hours)

    Includes 2 Stops (beach and nearby coral reef for snorkeling)

  • Indulge in a traditional lunch buffet (build your own sandwich station, pasta salad, fresh fruit, chips, and cookies), perfect for a beach day, and sip on unlimited rum cocktails made with local Don Q rum. Soft drinks and water are also provided while on board.

    *Local Medalla beer will be available for purchase onboard

  • Sanitized snorkeling masks, snorkels, flotation belts, and fins will be provided for the day.

    *$3 Department of Natural Resources will be due in cash upon checking in.

  • Customers will receive a full refund within 48 hours of notice of cancellation to scheduled reservation. Must call to make any changes. THIS CANCELLATION POLICY DOES NOT APPLY TO GROUPS, COUPONS, SPECIAL OFFERS, OR PRIVATE CHARTERS. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. All reservation changes must be made by phone. No-shows will be charged the full price.

  • Roundtrip transportation is available from most locations in Metro San Juan at select hotels for an additional cost of $50 per person. Please note, a minimum of 6 passengers is required for transportation to operate. To ensure availability, transportation must be arranged at least 48 hours before your scheduled trip over the phone. Don’t miss out—book early to secure your spot! Transportation is not guaranteed without prior arrangement.

Where WE VISIT

*The trips 2 destinations will be determined by our US Coast Guard licensed captain on the day of your adventure, ensuring the best and safest experience based on the current weather and water conditions.

  • Located some four nautical miles northeast of Fajardo, it has a size of approximately 163 acres. It is part of a chain of small islands, keys, and coral reefs known as La Reserva Natural de la Cordillera. The island hosts a fairly large amount of marine life, coral reefs, birds, and land iguanas. It is the perfect setting for snorkeling, swimming, diving, and beachcombing. It gets its name from the large number of Icacos bushes on the island. The Icacos is a small sour fruit, which grows to about the size of a key lime. When ready to be picked, they are pale yellow in color and come off the bush quite easily. The best way to eat them is cooked in heavy syrup.

  • Located some 3.5 nautical miles east of Fajardo, it has a size of approximately 104 acres. It is one of a few private islands that exist throughout Puerto Rico. Part of the island is on lease to El Conquistador Hotel to be used as the hotel’s beach. About a quarter-mile south of Palominos island lies Cayo Palominitos, which is a one-acre sandy key with tropical vegetation perfect for swimming or snorkeling.

  • Located some 1.5 nautical miles east of Cayo Icacos, it has a size of approximately five acres. It is also one of a few private islands throughout Puerto Rico. In the early ’60s, the island hosted a very exclusive hotel, which ran into financial difficulties and was abandoned for a great part of the ’70s and ’80s until it was bought by a local family and converted into a paradise vacation home. Surrounded by small keys and coral reefs, it is great for snorkeling.

  • Our U.S. Coast Guard–licensed captain closely monitors all weather and sea conditions to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests. If conditions are deemed unsafe and we need to cancel, we will contact you directly to reschedule your trip or provide a full refund. If you do not hear from us, your sailing will proceed as scheduled.

    As weather conditions are beyond our control, there may be rare occasions when conditions change during the course of your experience. In such instances, our captain will assess the situation and make every effort to adjust the route so guests can safely continue to enjoy their time on the water. If necessary, the captain may also modify the scheduled experience to prioritize safety while still providing the best possible outing.

    We offer curated add on celebration options, including birthday cakes, champagne, and proposal sail banners, to make your moment even more memorable. Give us a call to inquire about adding a celebration package to your reservation, or be sure to select it at the time of booking to elevate your experience.

  • Need transportation? We can arrange roundtrip service from several pick up locations in the San Juan area for an additional $50 per person. Transportation requires a minimum of 6 passengers (not specific to your group) in total in order to operate. Add on service can be added online during the booking process or MUST CALL TO ADD to existing reservations 48 HOURS PRIOR.

  • As mentioned above, our trips require a minimum of 12 guests total (across all passengers) in order for the trip to be confirmed and depart.

    Please don’t hesitate to secure your reservation. In the unlikely event that the minimum is not met and the trip cannot be confirmed, our team will reach out to you directly to either reschedule for the next available date or provide a full refund.
